What Happened to My Bed?

Here I am, sleeping on the couch. We've been so busy lately that I often missed my afernoon naps. So, on this day, I refused to nap in my bed and told Mommy that I wasn't tired. However after sitting in her lap for a few minutes, I just closed my eyes for a few minutes!

My First Haircut!

I decided that I finally needed to get my first haircut! My baby curly hair was just getting into my ears and starting to bother me, so mommy took me to get my first haircut. I got to sit in a neat fire truck and drive it while I got my haircut. Mommy said I did a great job. Now I look like such a big boy!

Playground fun!

This past weekend, we went to my Grandmother Cooke's house and spent the night. We got to go to a family reunion, and we also got to go to a neat park in Rocky Mount. Brighton and I had lots of fun climbing all over a play train and going up and down the slides. We had great time getting to spend time with Grandmother Cooke!

11 Months Old!

Here's a picture of me on the day I turned 11 months old! I can't believe that I am almost one year old! I am doing about every movement possible, except walk unassisted. I can crawl, cruise, climb, and get into lots of trouble! I even tried climbing on top of our train table the other day!

I Can't Say 'Croup', but I Don't Like It...

I'm not really sure where to begin here, but mommy and daddy tell me that Labor Day week should be a fun week! However, my families week was the opposite.

Starting the Saturday before Labor Day, when we had some neighbors over for a cookout, I began to come down with a fever. Sunday night I woke up at 3am with a very bad cough and was really struggling to breath. I obviously woke Mommy and Daddy, and they came and got me out of my room to try and help me out. They comforted me and I was able to rest a little bit in their bed. Needless to say, I went to the doctor first thing in the morning and was diagnosed with 'Croup'. I was given a steroid shot in the leg (ouch) and order to go home and rest and do anything possible to keep me from getting upset (I definitely tested mommy and daddy with that one!). My breathing got better, but I battled the fever and grumpiness for several days.

The one thing mommy and daddy kept saying is, 'I hope your brother doesn't catch it'.

Fast forward to Wednesday night. About 9:30pm, I hear Brighton sit up in his crib, and it sounded like there was a seal in our room! He has caught Croup! Mommy and Daddy quickly came and got him out of our room. Mommy and Daddy told me that they were able to calm him down a little by running the steamy shower and the humidifier. He was able to sleep a little more, but woke up with another attack around 3:30am. Needless to say, we ended up back at the doctor's office first thing Thursday morning for two reasons:
1.) Brighton now had croup and was struggling with his breathing.
2.) I, myself, was still battling a strong fever.

The doctor gave Brighton the same steroid shot, and told me to continue to rest, that he didn't think it should last much longer.

However, the concern was with Brighton, because of his age, croup can have a tougher impact on his small throat. He continued to have labored breathing, and the decision was made to send him to the ER for some treatment.

Mommy took Brighton to the hospital while Daddy took me home to take care of me. He did well at the hospital and received a breathing treatment, and immediately could breath better. Thankfully, he continued that way and came home all in one day.

On top of that, our refrigerator decided to basically burn up on the same day that Brighton was in the hospital!

Anyways...we are all slowly recovering, even Mommy caught it as well. We see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Here are some pictures of my brother at the hospital! I was glad to see him when he came home!
