Daddy meets Deuce

Well, I'm finally big enough for Daddy to feel me move inside Mommy. I was hoping he'd feel me for his birthday but since I don't have a calendar in here, I was a day late. Daddy seemed really excited to finally connect with me. He made a guess that I'm a boy. Mommy thinks I'm a girl. Please use the ExpectNet poll and enter in your own guess about me. Till next time...

The Durham Cows!

Mommy and Daddy decided to take me to a Durham Bulls baseball game to see how I liked it! I did like it and enjoyed watching all the people. I spotted a giant cow way out in left field and it's nose shot out smoke! Mommy and Daddy said that I used to respond "Moooooo" to a picture of a cow, however recently it has changed to "Baaaaa" for some reason. So as soon as I saw the cow (Mommy said it was bull) I pointed and screamed "Baaaaaa"!

I also enjoyed stuffing my face while watching baseball!

Frankie's

Mommy and Daddy decided to take me to Frankie's for Saturday fun time. They showed me miniature golf, and we played some arcade games, and had lunch! Wanted to ride the go-carts, but Daddy said that I'm too young! Oh well...something to look forward to!

Airplane!

My Daddy has always been wanting to take me out to the airport observation deck to watch the big airplanes. Daddy was a pilot for a while and really likes airplanes, so he wanted to show me! I know the sign for airplanes and every time I hear one, I point to the sky! The observation park had a playground with a big sand pit that I was very interested in. Mommy and Daddy hadn't shown me one of those before. I liked trying to play with the other kids. Here are some pictures from our trip to the airport. Notice the great photography with the new camera!

I see an airplane!

Trying to climb the playground equipment.

Must get back to the sand pit!

Pool Play Date

Isabelle and her Dad came over today for a play date. Since the weather was warm, we got some swimming in! Here I am splashing with Isabelle on the pool steps!

Deuce at 20 weeks

Hey everybody! Mommy will be twenty weeks pregnant tomorrow....the half-way point! She hasn't been able to feel me moving much and has been a little concerned since she felt my brother Chandler moving a LOT by this point. Today she now knows why. Her placenta is anterior (closer to the tummy than the back) and it acts as a large cushion against all of my punches and kicks so she can't really feel them. She'll probably start feeling them more when I get bigger. Today she and Daddy went to the Midwives for my checkup. Everything is looking good. My heart rate was 160 bmp, and Mommy is measuring right at twenty weeks. She is going to try and go to Whole Foods and get some ProBiotics to try and clear up the Group B Strep that she has so she won't worry about me catching it. Soon Daddy will put up a poll so we can see what everybody thinks I'll be (boy/girl) and when I'll arrive!

Happy Father's Day!

Daddy got a new Digital SLR camera for Father's Day and his birthday and Christmas for the next few years. I knew about it for a few weeks...it's a good thing I can't speak yet, because I really wanted to ruin the surprise!

I kinda feel like a celebrity now! Daddy is constantly following me around with his new camera. Since his new camera is so nice, I have to make sure I wipe the smeared dinner off my face so that it doesn't show up in the pictures!

Here is one of Daddy's first shots of me with his new camera! Very nice, huh?

Summertime Fun!

As you know, it was very hot here this past weekend. So, what do you do when it is very hot? You hang out in the pool all weekend! So, that's what I did. Mommy got me a neat float to play in! I love all this pool time!

SUA, Round Two!

So, Mommy and Daddy took me to the hospital last Friday. No fears, it wasn't because I was sick or injured, we got to take pictures of the baby in Mommy's tummy. Much to our surprise, this baby also has SUA (single umbilical artery) just like I did. Needless to say my family was very shocked. Supposedly, they don't believe it to be hereditary, it is supposed to be fairly random. I assured Mommy that I had no problems with SUA, and I will help the new baby through the process. Anyways...we will still monitor the new baby closely (by having a 3rd trimester ultrasound) and make sure growth is good. Other than SUA, every looked great and very healthy. On to the pictures! Here is a picture of when I was in Mommy's tummy:

Farmer's Market Fun!

Today my buddy Aidan and I went to the NC State Farmer's market with our moms. We had a lot of fun. I loved looking at all the other babies being pushed around and also pointing out all the food to Mommy that I wanted to eat. People kept asking Mommy if her and Miss Carrie were sisters and also if Aidan and I were twins!

Here's Aidan and I after having lunch! We are best buds!

14 Month Stats

I'm 14 months old now! Here are my stats:

Weight: 23 lbs, 10 oz
Height: 30 3/8"

I can crawl really well now, but I'm not walking independently yet. I eat everything in sight. I'm not taking a morning nap anymore, but usually take a snooze after lunch for a few hours. I still love being outside and especially enjoy swinging or being in the pool.

Here's a funny picture of me playing with Katie. I got one of my drumsticks and was using Katie as my drum. Mommy thought this was hillarious.

Deuce Says Hello

I finally decided to give Mom a kick or two, actually three to let her know I'm in here. This is the first time that Mom has felt me move, so she was really excited. Daddy tried to feel me, but I don't think he did yet. This was the same time that Mommy felt Chandler move inside her during her pregnancy (17 weeks, 5 days) so she was somewhat relieved. She'll get to see me on Friday, so hopefully we can post some pictures!

Welcome Summer!

Hey Everybody! I'm sorry for not blogging lately, I've been very busy. My grandma and my nanny moved into a new townhome on May 22nd and I've been helping them out for some time now. Mommy and Daddy have helped them pack and unpack too. Grandma moved about 1.5 miles away, so I'll get to see her more often now.

It was such a hot day on Saturday that we all decided to get in the pool. This is the first time I've been in our pool since last September! It was a blast. Thanks to Aidan for my cool new swimsuit and shirt that he gave me for my birthday. Mommy tried sitting me on the float that I loved so much last year, but I kept trying to crawl off it. I really wanted to get into the water.

After Mommy set me on the steps to take a picture I dove forward and got my wish! This is how happy I was after diving in face first!

Here I am relaxing after my swim. It was a long day!

Happy Birthday Charlotte!

My friend Charlotte turned one on Saturday. I went to her party to help her celebrate. I played at her big brother's train table with her cousin, Ava while she opened some of her presents.

Here is Charlotte and her Mimi posing in front of her cake. Charlotte's mom made her a special cake. This is the one for the adults, but mommy let me have some of it.

Here Charlotte decided to have a mini-meltdown as I was saying goodbye. Why do my dates always end like this?

A work in progress....our Koi Pond

Daddy decided last year that he wanted to redo our Koi pond. Mommy accidentily killed all the Koi last year when she lost track of time while adding water to the pond when she was nursing me.

Anyways, Daddy has decide to rip up the old Koi pond and rebuild it to make it much bigger and neater. It is a slow process. Mommy and Daddy work on it for an hour or so when they can find the time. Yesterday they finally got the liner and water out of the pond. I did what I could to help. I moved some of the smaller rocks into the grass for them. I did like leaning over the edge to check out the progress, and I ended up getting quite muddy. I had a bath after that before heading to Charlotte's Party.

My First "Big Boy" Bath!

Now that I'm one, Mommy and Daddy decided to let me try sitting in the tub all by myself. Before I was using a seat that helped me from tipping over. They got some special fishies and stuck them on the bottom of the tub to help keep me from slipping. I love pointing them out to Mommy. I love the water and especially splashing in it. I also like to check out the fireman duck that is in the tub and the lever underneath him causes the water to drain out. Mommy doesn't like me playing with that though. I guess I better enjoy this big tub while I can until I have to start sharing with Deuce.

Off and Running....well Almost!

Last Sunday I really started to use my hippo to get around with. I love to walk behind it and sometimes I get going too fast and I fall down to my knees. I get frustrated when my hippo gets stuck against the wall and I scream until somebody comes to move it for me. Hopefully soon I'll learn how to turn it around myself. In the past week I've already gotten much better at walking and I hardly fall down anymore. This is helping me work on my walking. Soon I'll be off and running....

Hair Cut # 2

It's been almost two weeks since Mommy cut my hair. I needed an all over trim, and Mommy thought she'd try to do it herself rather than take me to the salon. I think that she did a very good job considering I sat on my butt and spun around in circles while she was giving me a trim. Even after she gave me some juice and goldfish crackers I continued to spin around. Oh well, she says next time...leave it to the professionals!
